ROCK CLIMBING

Yosemite National Park is it: The iconic birthplace of American rock climbing and the most famous climbing area in the world. Between the populous climbing destinations of Yosemite and the Tahoe area lies a more obscure section of the Sierra Nevada. It includes better known areas such as Table Mountain and the Calaveras Domes, as well as seldom visited or climbed mountain rock. Like all regions the span the breadth of the Sierra Nevada, it can be climbed in all seasons by moving to a currently comfortable elevation.

Much of this region falls within the boundaries of the Stanislaus National Forest, including some overlapping wilderness areas at its borders.

SKI SEASON

Badger Pass is the Yosemite area haven for the skier at an elevation of 7,200 ft to 8,000 ft and a vertical drop of 800 ft. The Average Temperature range is 30° to 60° Fahrenheit and the ski park boasts 10 ski runs: 35% beginner, 50% intermediate, 15% advanced.  With 5 chairlifts: 1 triple-chair, 3 double-chair and, 1 handle tow

Badger pass also has a beginner-friendly terrain park.

The season opens mid-December through mid-March, conditions permitting.

RIVER RAFTING

If you’ve never tried rafting before the Merced River is an excellent place to test the waters! There are two main locations for river rafting – in Yosemite Valley where the ride is smoother, and outside the park on the Merced River from Redbud to Lake McClure where the runs can be Level 2 to 4 depending on the water conditions and time of year. This is a seasonal activity in spring and early summer only.  We can help you every step of the way and get you in touch with the right outfitter.
